The Alpha Vocational Training Centre maintains the Sisters of Mercy mission to provide social, academic and vocational training for young men 16-21 years old in need of services. Math and english instruction is complimented by skills training in music, carpentry, barbering or screen printing. Student literacy, medical and social assessments, home visits and family interviews help to target needs. Holistic interventions, supported by small class sizes, one-on-one counselling and work experience, are focused on a smooth transition from school to work.
