In November 1982, a just-launched British TV station called Channel 4 aired a six-episode series on the birth and rise of Rastafarianism, reggae and dub culture in Kingston called “Deep Roots.”
In this episode, Deep Roots documents mento, revival, ska and rocksteady from the people who created it, including Miss Lou, Mikey Dread and tenor saxophonist and Alpha past student, Tommy McCook.
